Alexandra Raisman

Aly Raisman is a gold-medal-winning Olympic gymnast who captained her U.S. team to victories in 2012 and 2016. Aly has won the distinction of having six Olympic medals and two World Championships gold medals. Aly is a native of Needham which is located in Massachusetts. Her passion to gymnastics can be traced to an 18-month old "mommy and me" class. Aly is a leader when she's on the floor and off, and a fierce champion of body positivity. This was evident recently, she has spoken out against Larry Nassar in his sentencing trial. The 1994 birth of Aly Raisman was a turning point in her life. Aly Raisman started gymnastics from a young age, and played a role in helping the U.S. gymnastics team win the 2011 World Championships. Following that she won two gold medals -- one in the team contest and one in the individual floor workout--along with a bronze on the beam at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. Raisman won silver in both the individual and floor finals of the 2016 Olympics in Rio. Also, she took home a gold medal during the team gymnastics contest. Raisman came to a shocking conclusion in 2017. She had been sexually abused at the hands an ex-team physician Larry Nassar. In the next year, Raisman sued USA Gymnastics.
